Literally about 20 min ago, i saw Ride-On's 5404 deadheading on I-270 NORTHbound at around Quince Orchard/Mont. Village Ave...I wonder what Ride-On is up to now...

Also, I noticed 35-footers showing up on the 55 more often than usual...I mean earlier I saw 5904 on the 55...and other days I see a bunch of them come by at Montgomery College (both Germantown and Rockville)...on the 55 of course.
It's ironic since Gaithersburg just got more 40-footers recently...(5710-5725 in case you forgot)

Gaithersburg recently received 16 of the 1999 Orion V regular diesel 40' buses from Silver Spring.  And now, Ride On's Gaithersburg garage has all of the 40' Orion Vs (regular diesel & CNG).

Not sure what the blocking is like these days, but I know in the past, there was a time of day when the shifts were changing and there was a trip or two that had to be covered by a non-40 foot block.  It is possible you are seeing that.  Otherwise, they just aren't assigning the buses where they usually do.

OH BTW 9310 may not be at CET anymore, because it is probably NOW  at the LANDOVER AUCTION LOT.  I passed over said lot this evening and saw a whole bunch of ice cream *ahem* Orion IIs sitting there along with 9 Metro Bs.

The DE42LFAs are probably going to enter service faster because when I went passed C.E.T. earlier in the day, there were about 8 Flyers there, and passing there tonight, those were gone.

So it seems the locals are going to their perspective garages. 6434 makes 6 expresses on the S9, which leaves only 4 or so left to fill. I wonder when the DE37s will come in and something tells me that these buses might be labled as 6500s.

ok so I am now in Florida...but on the way to Dulles Airport via Metrobus...I saw the following (no pics this time, sorry):

-6024 on the 53 to Takoma Station
-An unidentified 63/6400 in the Local paint scheme on 11th and Pennsylvania Ave (possible Western bus on the 63/64?)
-9390 headed southbound in the direction of the 30s (not sure if it was on the 34, 39 or the other 30s, so it's possible that it's at Western, Blad., or Annex)
-9313 on the V7 at L'enfant Plaza
-More 6400 express buses spotted on the S9 today...including 6426, 6427 (which I rode), 6430, 6434, and I think also 6429.

Then rode 2703 on the 5A to Dulles Airport. Seriously, I had NO idea how horribly crowded it was gonna get...either the 5A should get more artics or they should restore the 5B to extend it to Herndon/Monroe P&R since that's where the grand majority of people got off. Seriously, wayyyyy too crowded.

I heard the DE42LFA's will be in service by next week. I hope so to. And i hope that the Metro B's will live to see 2010. And WES  when you said Auction lot, Thats means its ready to be sold in an auction some time soon?

A DE42LFA FINALLY visible at Landover! I think it was hiding this whole time. Also, when I read the Express this morning a man was spraying 6045 (a bus which I still have not seen in service) to protect it against the swine flu. A DE42LFA was sitting behind 6045 in the picture. So I'll take a wild guess that there are currently 2 LFAs visible at Landover.
