February 2009 Observations

So that rules out being exclusively a New Flyer problem. I'm beginning to think its probably something with the work assignment being loaded onto the CD system and for some reason, the route numbers don't show up correctly. I know its supposed to change automatically, but as for this four digit numbers showing up, that's still beyond me. I haven't seen any Orion Vs, VIs, or VIIs (and O2s) that are experiencing this problem so far. As it stands, Bladensburg, Landover, and Montgomery buses are having this problem.

You forgot Four Mile Run. Someone said that they saw an Orion VII with this porblem.

That would have been me and again saw another one 2594 with 4247 on the 16 something or rather.

3951 broke down.  Spotted this afternoon on W. Broad.

This just in all 2300-2400's will recieve the new paint scheme affective as of lastweek until sept of 09.

Also someone got into the software code for the clever device programs and codes so the software teams has been working to reinstall the system with better security codes. so if u see " 3856 of 4123" or any numbers  or something that  reads error  thats not the route number lol.. just a break in with the sytem.

I was afraid this would happen seeing as the C40LFs are the next group due for rehab.  Before this new paint scheme, I was looking forward to the C40LF going through rehab and repainted like the newer New Flyers (and Orion VII) with the blue ends.

5219 is up and running again, I saw it literally 10 minutes ago on the 71 southbound.

Oh, and more Montgomery bugs...6021 with the sign saying "4173" instead of C2 and another New Flyer (forgot the number) on the Q2 with "4167" on the sign.

one last thing I almost forgot...I finished my class at MC Germantown, took the 55 to GTC, then took the 100 to Shady Gr, and upon arriving at SG, 5830 was roadblocking the exit ramp from Shady Grove Rd to the metro station...we passed by quick so I didn't see much but it looked like an accident at first, it wasn't though. What happened there?

Yes, on 2/11/2009 I saw 6221 with the "4173" on the C2 about 10:15 pm at Wheaton Plaza.  Earlier at about 5:45 pm I saw 6200 operating the Q2 southbound at Veirs Mill and Connecticut in Wheaton displaying "4317 Silver Spring Station."

another thing I forgot to mention: 5716 and 5724 are finally at Gaithersburg now...I saw 5716 on the 70 and 5724 somewhere upcounty (not sure what route it was on, but it was around the Gaithersburg/Germantown area)

Does anyone know the whereabouts of 5717, 5720, 5723, and 5725 as of now?

I know 5720 & 5725 are at Gaithersburg. The other two units I'll have to get back to you. The transfers of the 5700's went pretty slow for some reason.

Also it sounds like all of the remaining Orion I's might be stayng at Nicholson until the next order. So get your last rides and pics while you can.

5400 & 5401 from the training track also seem to remain at Nicholson for now.
