$1.1 billion taken from Maryland transportation plan

THE WASHINGTON POST reported today that "Maryland transportation officials have pared nearly another $1.1 billion from the state's six-year transportation plan in response to decreasing tax revenue that supports road and transit projects."  This second round cut includes deferrals "in bus placement and rail cars, including MARC trains" but should have no effect on the Purple Line or The Intercounty Connector.

That's  a bummer.  Assuming President Obama's stimulus bill gets Senate approval, hopefully Maryland can get more transportation funding.
