ABSOLUTELY!  I never thought I would see something like this in my lifetime!  Now we all must come together and help President-elect Obama deal with the challenges that face this nation.

Agreed - There's a lot of work to be done and look forward to the Obama/Biden administration taking the country in a new direction.

Just the other day my mother-in-law (lives in North Carolina) told us of yet another factory closing in their small town.  To make matters worse (IMO), the factory is not going out of business... They're moving their operations overseas.

LandoverDivision

Yeah Amen to that. Hopefully, Obama will bring that and more into this great nation we call America.

It's certainly a good day in America.  It was amazing to see how Nevada which is usually so red was overwhelmingly blue.  So many people, including me, took part of early voting it was incredible to go past grocery stores and other locations and see the lines of people waiting to vote.  Yay for our right to vote.

I spent the evening watching the returns with my 85-year-old grandmother, someone who has come through all the prejudice and hate the last almost century had to offer.  If I could have captured the expression on her face when CNN called Obama the winner at exactly 11:00 PM (maybe a few seconds past), it was even more euphoric than seeing Obama win in the first place.

I too was happy and smiling when they called Obama as president-elect. Im in Montana (for work) and i think they went with Obama too! Montana's Gov. is also a Dem. and the U.S. Senator who won last night. I noticed a few western states who use to be red went blue this time. I am usually independent because i do stand on differant sides of the aisle on differant issues. I do agree with what the "House Republicans" in that BAILOUT was a crock of doo doo, I would NOT have voted for it at all. 700 billion to millionaires??? It didnt help anyone, and bailouts DO NOT work. I also like my gun rights (in times of crisis the POLICE will NOT protect you as an individual or family they would have other priorities). Out in the west here you need a gun especially if you plan on being out in the middle of nowhere (I AM planning on being out in the woods miles from civilization when i get vacation time).

Montana was red this time.  Last time Montana went blue was in 1992.

Those are stories that are so cool to hear - thanks for sharing this with us.

I am glad that Obama is president and I will be going to the inaugaral (sp?) in January.  It might take some time to clean up the mess GWB got us into but I believe that President Obama will get us out of it.  My only concern is that since we have a democrat dominated legislative and executive branch that they don't go overboard and do stupid things to get themselves kicked out in 2 years (the House).  The democrats have to stay central, cut programs that don't work, cut welfare to those who don't want to work but live off of the government, give healthcare to those who really need it and not to everyone, give tax cuts to those small businesses so they can provide health care for their employees.

The thing about the election of now President-elect Obama was that he didn't win because of the black vote (95%), he won because of the hispanic vote (67%), women (55%), even the white vote (41%) got him into office.  And big congrats go out to the young people, for whom the most part they don't get out and vote, got out and voted and voted BIGTIME, (66% for Obama).  History is made and it now shows if you are a black child in the ghetto and you have the wherewithall to want to become president, Obama gave that opportunity to become president, if you are that hispanic child whose parents came to this country LEGALLY and they work 5 jobs to feed your family and you want to become president you can and if you are that little girl who admired Hillary Clinton's run to try to become President, you have the opportunity to become president.

And if you are a dude who drives a Saturn and likes bus seats and bus mirrors and people wonder WTF you say in half of your posts  PLEASE DON'T EVEN CONSIDER RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!!!! :D

WES,

Good luck getting tickets for the inauguration.  I suggest calling your representative and senators now.  I went to the 2005 Inaugural for the experience (I would have rather seen Kerry be inaugurated) and getting a ticket was tough.

WayneNYC

I've already contacted all three.  I'll also have some of my people in NYC try to score some tickets for me.

WES

Yea, I need to get on the phone to my congressperson for that.

The funny thing that happened Tuesday night was all the people who lined up in front of the White House.  I was being funny when I said they were lining up in front of the White House to kick Bush out before he was due to leave. ;D
