For me, it's got to be PRTC Omnillink. The buses run horribly on weekdays with long head ways (coupled with bad traffic). They run even worse on Weekends! I sometimes spend nearly 2 hours waiting for a damn bus! Now Omniride is not as bad as it's local counterpart, but they could still run longer hours and perhaps some more frequent service. As for the best in my opinion, it's got to be DASH (although I find FFX to be somewhat reliable, at least compared to how it used to be when I moved from New York almost 10 years ago). What do you guys think?

The only two systems that I ride on regularly are Ride On and WMATA. Between the two, Ride On's reliability has decreased over the last few years, I've noticed. I know WMATA isn't perfect either, but at least the time between buses are generally shorter.

Yeah, but it depends on the area and routes for WMATA. Also, I've noticed that buses are fairly clean on both DASH and Fairfax Connector, but on PRTC and occasional WMATA Metrobuses, they are quite dirty (especially the former). WMATA Trains are also ridiculously dirty, covered with trash, newspapers (and alot of them) and other nonsense. Have you noticed that?

I think DASH has the best on time reliability and cleanest buses. But frequency of service hands down goes to WMATA. Agreed with George, Ride On's on time reliability has been disappointing for awhile.

In terms of on time performance for Metro, it's a hit or miss. I can't speak for D.C. lines because I don't fan that way very often (although the 42, 70, and 80 are all pretty good for the most part), but in Northern VA, the only routes that are good outside of rushhours are the 22A, 38B, 23A, 28A, 9X (Metroways), REX, and the 9A. The rest are quite questionable. Not even the 16 line is that great (except for the 16G which is mostly a city route). IMHO, DASH, FFX, and even ARTransit to a lesser extent beat Metro in terms of Frequency. PRTC has got to be the flatout worse of them all (although I can't speak for THE bus, Ride-On, LCT, or CUE since I don't ride them).
