Metro North train collision in Connecticut on May 17, 2013

49 injured, four seriously, as trains collide in Connecticut     

All train operations are halted between New York and Boston.
An east bound train derailed at 6:10pm EDT and struck a west bound train between Fairfield and Bridgeport CT.  Unfortunately those look like brand new M8 cars.

Confirmed, those are  brand new MNRR M8s.
