Restored RDC coming to Gaithersburg Rolling Stock Park

From THE GAZETTE:  "By year's end, one more B&O Railroad car will have rolled into Gaithersburg for good.  The Mayor and City Council contracted Monday (7/18/2011) to restore a Budd car (RDC/Rail Diesel Car) from the Baltimore B&O Museum and bring it to Rolling Stock Park at 9 South Summit Avenue in Old Towne.  Baltimore-based Worcester Eisenbrandt was awarded a contract for $356,000 with an additional $35,000 in contingency funding for the project, which will be complete in December.  The train car will join the the railroad exhibit at Rolling Stock Park, part of the Gaithersburg Community Museum.  The rolling stock exhibit now includes a 1918 Buffalo Creek and Gauley #14 steam locomotive, a C&O Railroad bay window caboose and a 1940 Defense Transportation Corps troop kitchen car."

Personally, I hope the RDC in question is the B&O's RDC-2 diner that is sitting forlornly out in the open in the B&O Museum's yard.  The B&O had the only RDC diners ever made and they were used on the   DAYLIGHT SPEEDLINERS  that ran between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh via Baltimore and Washington DC.  These trainsets actually ran past the Gaithersburg station.
