Seems Metro owns a few cutaways.  Anyone know what they're using them for?  One person made it sound like these were used for employee shuttles from the divisions to bus locations and not in revenue service, but I found that hard to swallow, since (A) the cutaway is painted in the revenue paint scheme and not all-white like service vehicles, and (B) a cutaway seems kind of big for that kind of service.

Anyone know what the deal is with these?

They're mainly for the employee shuttles. I've seen them mainly on the L99 shuttle to CET.  They do have a few spares. Also, that scheme is used on the MetroAccess vehicles as well.

I have seen them on the P99, but that's about it.

Interesting "MetroShuttle" branding.  If wheelchair accessible, these would be good for those "shuttles" they have when the elevators don't work, or do they already use Access Vans for this purpose.
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

They use regular Metrobuses for the elevator shuttles.

That almost seems like a waste of a bus.  How many people take advantage of this shuttle service?

I was about to say the same thing.  Using a regular bus seems wasteful for a non-scheduled service like that unless you can really fill it.

Don't they use those the cutaways for the TAGS (S80,S91)? And they should use those on the E6.
