Check out this blog where an author has designed his/her own fantasy WMATA MetroRail system.  We should all live long enough to see this built (lol)!  http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org

WOW!   That sure is quite ambitious.   Hey, I like his Yellow Line idea, basically going up the New Hampshire Ave corridor...quite convenient for me!!
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

That's awesome.  I especially like the extentions to Germantown, BWI as well as the service to AU and Georgetown, but I won't get started on that whole animal.  If such a system did materialize, it's scary to think what the max fares would be.  Yikes!

That Brown Loop would be interesting to ride!  The system would be awesome but confusing as heck, though!

Fort Totten and the Pentagon would become mega transfer centers too! :)

Great observations!  I like the circle line that operates like the Circle Line in London and connects all of the other lines.  That is really awesome!
