I don't know if this is the right place to put this but has anyone seen blocks like this MSB9, PS89 etc. I think those are special blocks that cover for buses that break down during the rush hour period. Does anyone have info on that?

Well a couple of months ago, I saw about 4 Orion V's on the 38B with ASXX blocks, I specifically remember one of them being AS00. I immediately assumed the were covers.

I can tell you that they are strategic buses. The block number you saw "MSB9" does not exist as it should read MS8X (X means it can be between the range of 0-5). The "PS" is right but the number should be in the twenties.

I've seen a couple FMR and Western buses use the WSB and FSB codes for the strategics.

coincidentally, Montgomery has some strategic runs on the S line which would probably explain why you would see some Montgomery buses on that line with an MS or NS block, not sure if it's the same for the 70 but I'm assuming it may be.
