I've been hearing about a proposed Langley Park Transit Center.  Where would they put that anyway?  I imagine that it would encompass the Purple Line.  Has there been any developments with this idea?

I'm curious because a Langley Park Transit/Transportation Center would be lovely, especially with all of the bus traffic that goes through that old intersection of University Boulevard and New Hampshire Ave.

Actually, since Toys 'R Us is now gone (last time I checked) would it be out of the question to build the center up there? There's a big parking lot and I guess space for indoor facilities.

Sigh...I remember the days when that was a massive two floor K-Mart store!
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

I haven't heard this topic in awhile! But believe it or not I have the drawings for it somewhere. It was proposed to be where the Taco Bell stands today. There are some "issues" with it last I checked. MTA is heading it up since it will be a multi-jurisdictional transit center.

I remember hearing about it as well. I do remember seeing some artist renderings for it myself. They might be on the Purple Line site. The focus now is on Silver Spring as the Purple Line had hit yet another snag in coming to fruition.

Actually a better place might be across the street from the Taco Bell right next to the old Toys R Us parking lot, facing New Hampshire Avenue.

Oh, you mean MTA heading it up ISN'T the issue?
