After 126 years the ORIENT EXPRESS is making its final run.

NPR reported that the ORIENT EXPRESS will make its final run on Monday, December 14, 2009.  The original ORIENT EXPRESS made its first run on June 5, 1883 between Paris and Constantinople (now Istanbul).  Now the only way to relive the glory of yesteryear is to view the film MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (possibly the best train movie ever) or take the nostalgia VSOE between Paris and Venice (see www.npr.org for historic photographs and an audio report).

Wow.  I was at Sirkeci Station in Istanbul back in August, though the Orient Express hasn't served that station in many years.  Easyjet and RyanAir have really changed the way people travel through Europe.
