This Saturday September 12, 2009 at Landover Division where it's usually held at. Luckily I don't have to work that day so I'll be there all day.

Last year, I got there late morning. it probably started earlier but not sure. And guys, they have shuttles at Landover and New Carrollton Stations if anyone needs a ride there.

I know I heard it wasn't. Sucks because I've never been to one. I'm pretty sure the bus roadeo is though. They have signs outside Landover right now saying 'Welcome WMATA Roadeo September 12, 2009". Wonder what they do at rail roadeos?

They have various competitions, I went once. Mechanics have to find a defect on a train and fix it as quickly as possible. Operators have skills contests that involve announcements, handling a report of smoke on the train, and stopping the train as close to a cone placed on the tracks without hitting the cone. However, since the rodeo is in the yard, the trains never go more than 15 MPH during competition.

Signs outside the depot might be for the invited guests, not the public. It can't hurt trying to call Metro and finding out if it is open to the public that way.
