I saw Metro-Ds on the road on Friday - what makes you say they are all retired?

I meant to say just about all of them are retired, I rarely see them since I live on Flx E territory

Tristan,

I'd suppose those that you saw on that day were the 9700 series, if not any of the 9800s.

Ok it seems just like ALL the Metro D's are retired and the Metro Es numbered 4018, 4022, 4032, 4039, 4040, 4046-4051 are sitting at CET possibly waiting retirement or getting stored.

EGADS man!  What's going on down there?!  I have yet to have my final ride on the Metro Es, wasn't planning to say bye bye to ALL of the Metro Ds, and surely didn't think I'd have a second chance of a final ride on my favorite Metro Bs!

I think I may stop by this Thanksgiving! :)
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

I saw 9821 that day and decided not to ride it because I needed an Ikarus recording more than a DD50 Metro-D recording (which I have of 9825).  Bad move, huh?

Where are the E's hanging out nowadays?  Are they still at Royal/NoVa?

The are at the Annex Division and run in southeast DC and Montgomery Division in Montgomery County. and the Blade has some too.

Annex has 4001-4051
Bladensburg has 4052-4065
Montgomery has 4066-4104

it's easiest to find them on Annex and Montgomery routes, but do remember that there are some that are retired so these numbers may be less.
Route Q2. Destination: Silver Spring Station

Am I led to believe that all 18 of the Cummins M11-powered 9800s (#9801-9818) are retired?
