Yeah I was told by the developing manger when Wal-Mart was still just dirt that they wouldn't make it into a Supercenter because it would put Safeway out of business.
The REAL Landover Division fan!

I miss Five Guys big time.  I don't know if they'll try to crack the burger market here.  There is In N Out, Fatburger and now a Denver chain called Smashburger is supposedly going to open stores here in the near future.  I do like the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay..Hubert Keller runs that place and it's good.

I have an In N Out here in Centennial Hills, but have never had the desire to try one.  When I go to San Diego, I go to Ocean Beach and go to Hodad's.  That is one heck of a good burger.  What better place to go than to a place with a bunch of surfer dude metal heads and homeless  people.  It's a great place and I highly suggest it.

I don't think there is really any history left in Las Vegas.  Everything gets imploded and something new goes on that land for about 25 years, then that gets imploded for something else new.

If only that Safeway (and that Safeway looks like it's been there a while, it has the old logo and pre-"life" exterior) was built even a half-mile down 450, then it'd have gone Supercenter no problem. Perhaps if it was built away from the Safeway it wouldn't have been much of a threat, that whole area has obscene amounts of wasted space because they just couldn't bear to take out half of the old Capital Plaza parking lot.

I remembered another entity missing from the local landscape.

"The ALEXANDER SCHOOL"

It was a private school, that was next to Four Corners Elementary (now a senior citizens home. . .  300 blk University Blvd West). Wife & I drove by it & saw nothing but an open field, with severely overgrown grass & weeds.

When did they put a traffic light up at Northwood High School??
Can't go wrong, with a classic ANYTHING!
