I have the roster saved on om pc. I look at it everyday. The only buses i have problems with are the 4000's.

Scrabbleship

I just got off Ride On's original 5755 (the 2007 hybrid) on the 5. Must be hard to have two buses of the same number at Silver Spring...

it's still numbered 5755?

I saw 5762 today on the 5, the original hybrid one

If it's a different number, how is it hard to have two 5755's?  No agency has two buses the same number.  There are these great inventions called computers that allow you to actually change the numbers so the inventories match the fleet!

Dispatchwise, that'd be kinda confusing.
I'm looking for 5755 (Which one) The newer one.

and when they get renumbered, I hope they don't place the new numbers with those cheap ugly number labels like they did for 5997-5999...

I think I might know something about that. Yesterday, I was tracking the 79 and I think there are a couple of blocks that interline with other local routes. One of which being the U8. It was still shown as being a 79 (I think it didn't switch over to the other assignment). Another time, I tracked an R1 deadheading from Silver Spring to Fort Totten.

The other thing could be that the bus that was supposed to be assigned to that block might have broken down or was in the shop and a spare had to be assigned to it. Happens all the time.

For my recent sighting of a 4200 on the R3 is that normal?

well we know that 4200 and 4201 are Bladensburg buses again, and it seems that they are used as regular Rush Hour buses just like the 2600s and non-express 2800s...so seeing one on the R3 is no different from those buses imo.

Seeing a 4200 on the 79 wouldn't be much different either, just more unlikely since there's much less 4200s than the other buses, and it seems like the 5200s are strictly for the X2, since I have never seen or heard of those buses being on different routes

To be honest, I've never seen the 5200s on anything other than the X2. That line is just busy like the 70. As for the other tics, the U8 doesn't come close to the capacity as the X2. Plus, don't the U2, 4, 5, and 6 service some of those areas around Minn Avenue. Plus, if anyone hasn't heard yet, the X2 is undergoing a study for improvements as a part of the priority corridor plan. We could be seeing a "X9" sometime within the next year.
