Stole this idea from a phone conversation with rideonrulez -- in light of PG's new transit plan, let's assume they actually went and did it.  Where would service best be added?

Wes pretty much summed it up but let's see...I don't know if there is enough time in a day but I'll make an attempt *cracks fingers*

-81, 83, 86-Extend to "Calverton" (Current R2 terminal/future West Farms Transit Center) So the R2 won't have to do that big stupid loop and provides connectivity to Montgomery County bus service
-A12-Extend to Capitol Heights Station full time to connect with the U8 and 96 into DC
-Split the R12 in half at Greenbelt Station
-Restart a route going over the Woodrow Wilson maybe operating to/from King St (Tristan will be opposed to this  :P )/Branch Ave Station
-weekend/evening service to outlying areas such as Laurel, Bowie (I know they have the C29 on Saturday only), Upper Marlboro, Clinton and Fort Washington.
-I'll sum it up and keep the rest short, ADDITIONAL SERVICE TO CURRENT ROUTES!!

Out of time and energy.......  ::)

Here's my two cents

F4, F6
-Provide additional weekday service past 930pm at least until 11pm. I've seen quite a few people waiting at the stop after the last F4 leaves at 955pm
-Weekend service on the F6

I do agree with splitting the R12 in half. Too long of a route to connect alot of places. R12 Deanwood-Greenbelt, R13 Greenbelt-New Carrollton

83,86
-Provide at least a couple more trips past 930pm
-Make 86 run every 45 minutes and the 83 every 30 minutes on the weekends

87-89
-Make 87/88 run all day. The first outbound PM trips on the 87 have alot of people waiting at Greenbelt station.
-Reduce headways for the 89 line during midday to at least 30-45
-Expand service to include weekend Metrobus service so that you won't have to rely upon a sole CTC route to go down county
Weekend service on the 89 and 89M.

How about restoring off-peak service between Waldorf and Branch Avenue?

The R12 split was supposed to be the proposed T14/R12.  If they do, then that route should go into Doctor's Hospital and take the T16 out of Doctor's Hospital, that would reduce the length of that route.  And to go on what Chris said

Laurel-weekend service.  I don't how many times I have seen the 89 and there are a bunch of people lining up to get on it.  Maybe reestablish the old 89 route, from R.I. Station, along with the current 89.  I have seen the patronage on that route and it did pretty well.  And the Konterra project going on, yea, that area will need more service.

Bowie-more service, weekend, maybe some late night service.  The western part is growing also, especially on the old turf farm off of Annapolis Road.  If Anne Arundel County would pay for it on an experimental service, extend the B27 during the weekday to Crofton.

The Bus's 21 might do well running later in the evening to Upper Marlboro, and might do it some good being diverted through Springdale(which has no bus service whatsoever and it's growing like a weed).  I also think they could split the 21, ending the original 21 in Kettering and, a new route servicing to Upper Marlboro, serving Drumsleigh(I think), along Largo Road.  In it's place, extend/redo the Route 22 to New Carrollton. Why the 22 stops at a vacant mall is beyond me.  It is DUH BUS.

I got more, but this might take more time than I have to right it.

And to Mr Will myself, PG is in the best/most opportune spot to be the centerpoint of transit.  I mean geez, so much opportunity, so far wasted.  Of course PG is the same geniuses who instead of developing around metro stations like Montgomery County and Arlington County did...........they put warehouses and junk yards next to their metrostations.

Here is changes 1 of 322 for I, would like to see and might make sense for PG Transit.

WMATA
-R12/T14/C2: Now the R12 was supposed to be split in half and the T14 would replace the R12 branch that would run from New Carrollton to Greenbelt.  The T14 should replace the T16 in going to Doctor's Hospital, as noted in a previous post and the T16 would turn right onto Good Luck Road, heading towards NASA, skipping Doctor's Hospital.  Now this part, I believe Chris came up with.  The C2 branch that runs from Greenbelt Station to the Greenbelt community should be replaced the the R12 that is proposed to end at Greenbelt, with the C2 terminating at Greenbelt.

A12 split:The A12 branch between PG Hospital and Capital Plaza(Wal-Mart) should be discontinued.  I would run the A12 along with an A14, starting from the Largo Town Center Station, down Landover Road, with some diversions, to Annapolis/Bladensburg Road.  Then this route would follow the now THE BUS 18 route from the intersection of the Landover Road/B-W Pkwy to PG Plaza.

F12:Extend from the New Carrollton Station, up Ardwick/Ardmore Road, into Springdale and from Springdale to the Largo Town Center Station.  Also cutting service between Kentland and Cheverly and possibly running the route through Kentland will cut some time off of the total trip.

F13:Cut the branch between Cheverly and P.G. Hospital, and rename the route the F16.  This route would begin at PG Hospital continue on the current F13 up to MLK Highway and 96th Avenue.  Then the route would turn onto 96th Avenue, turn onto Ardwick Ardmore Road enroute to Largo Town Center Station.

THE BUS:
18-Rework the route, split in two and rename in the single digits, since it would practically a major route.  First off the route would stay the same up till Columbia Park Road and Kent Village Drive.  From Kent Village Drive buses would cut through Kentland and continue to 75th Avenue to Pennsy Drive enroute to the Landover Station.  From Landover Station the route would go into Landover Hills, going into Capital Plaza(Wal Mart).  The the route would go into inner Bladensburg, then to Decatur Street, Route 1, East West Hwy to PG Plaza and then from the PG Plaza Station(yes the route would actually go into the station-which it doesn't now) and then would head towards Langley Park( and the future Langley Park Transit Center).  The other route would head onto Central Avenue, Hill Road, MLK Hwy, sheriff Road, picking up the other route till Landover Road and Kilmer Street, continuing on Landover Road, into PG Hospital and into West Cheverly/Bladnesburg then heading onto Edmonston Road, joining with the other route, heading towards Langley Park.

That's my 2 cents worth.

On a historical note (back to the past) GREYHOUND used to run local service to Baltimore using Route 1 (limited stops).  I think there is probably a market for that kind of service with the right kind of planning in Prince George's County and Howard County.  The GREYHOUND service left from the old "art deco" terminal on 13th Street so you had direct limited stop service from downtown DC to downtown Baltimore.  Certainly the limited stop service would stop at only major transit transfer points, etc.

IIRC, isn't there an MTA route that runs limited stops along US 1 at least between Baltimore and Laurel?
