Where I work, there is a Chipotle within a short walk, and every Monday I go there and get, get this don't be shocked, TWO burritos, yes I said it TWO burritos, with meat.  If someone built a Five Guys within walking distance, then I would probably go broke, because I would have two of my favs near me and it would be every Monday Chipotle and probably every Friday Five Guys.  That's some good stuff there buddy.

Other than Five Guys and Chipotle, I do like Qdoba, the Chipotle like Mexican grill, California Tortilla and Baja Fresh (what's up with me and Mexican Restaurants   ;D  ).  I also do like Burger King, Chick Fila, Checkers, Popeyes, KFC, Bojangles, Arby's, Roy Rogers but not McDonalds.

The funny thing about McDonalds was that when I was very little, I used to cry whenever we would pass a MickeyDs, but now unless I have to, or there is nothing else nearby, I don't want to go to McDonalds.

I went to Famous Daves over a week ago also and all I can say is  um, um B****.  I have also grown to love Kobe's (no not the basketball player, the Japanese restaurant) and Country Buffet is pretty decent.  Some of the other chain sit down restaurants are ok, but so far none that would make me say boy I want go there again.

So what's yours?

Unfortunately we don't have a Chick Fil A out here, but I wish we did.  I loved Five Guys, but alas we don't have that either.  We have In-n-Out but I haven't been there yet.  I used to also like Foster's Grill, I think they are only in the Manassas area.  They are a chain but not nearly like Five Guys.  In fact, there were days that I preferred Fosters over Five Guys because their burgers were more char grilled.  For pizza I loved Ledo's.  Grew up with the original one in Adelphi on University Blvd. and used to stand in line with my parents on Saturday nights.  Lots of fun and the waitresses were all old skool.

Out here I like Anthony and Mario's Broadway Pizza.  They have awesome pies and I just had a meatball sub there for the first time the other day and it was great.  There is this Cuban restaurant called Florida Grill that is in a Howard Johnson's on Las Vegas Blvd. that I like very much, I love Jason's Deli (I think they are opening them out your way too), you get a good healthy sandwich and free frozen yogurt afterwards.  Mimi's Cafe is very good, and kid friendly as is Blueberry Hill Restaurant on Decatur near Meadows Mall.  I've also been to this restaurant called Hash House a Go Go.....that place is crazy.  The servings are unbelievably huge, I can't even describe it. It's actually bigger than Cheesecake Factory big.  I had a pancake there once that was literally the size of a bus steering wheel and it was only 7 bucks!

Other places are the Bellagio buffet, which is fantastic and worth the $25 price tag.  That can be your only meal for the day and you'll be fine, Main Street buffet is not bad, it's cheap and you can eat pretty decently there, I like Panevino for a good sandwich as well as Port of Subs and Jimmy John's.

We don't eat out a whole lot and when we do it's usally the same place.  At work I'll run over to Jason's Deli since it's right up the street or the Cuban place.  There are a couple of Mexican places I like, Casa Don Juan and Lindo Michoacan.

For BBQ, I do like Famous Dave's and there is a place in Green Valley called Lucille's that I like.

A couple of places I'd like to try but haven't are the Burger Bar in Mandalay Bay, Setta Bella in Green Vally for pizza and Cheeburger Cheeburger in Mountain's Edge.

Ultimately though, my wife makes the best food.  For a vegetarian she has a knack for making meat dishes so good.  She doesn't eat them and doesn't taste them but she'll cook a NY Strip Steak that will rival the best steakhouses, same with ribs and she'll make good fish dishes and Mexican as well.

Well to start it off, when im in a really good and hungry mood i will just go to SubWay and they have the best subs yet! I went to Quiznos before but there food was horrible! (No offence to anybody who works/eat there). But when i really have alot of money i go to Ben's chilli bowl! They have the best hotdogs you can imagine.

We used to eat out quite often, but we've cut it back to pretty much once or twice on weekends.

I'm not big on fast food, but Chik-Fil-A is probably my favorite.  Roy Rogers is pretty good too and when I go home I have to have White Castle.

In the DC area, I also like Famous Daves.  They have some good food and you don't have to spend a fortune.  I always leave there full.  I still like Red Robin, but nowadays I only get their Chargrilled chicken.  Fries are still awseome.  However, I think Fuddrucker's easily beats Red Robin with Hamburgers.  Still like Outback, but they're getting expensive so we don't go there too often.  One of our favorites (and regular) places is Carrabbas.  Again, good food and usually not too expensive.  Going into the moderate priced stuff we absolutely love Mike's American Grill.  Also since we like beef our special occasion restaurant continues to be Ruth's Chris.  It's quite expensive, but those steaks are to die for.   No kidding.  Most who know me know, I'm also big on pizza.  Unfortunately, I haven't had what I consider to be great pizza in the DC area.  Three Brothers is often hot or miss.  Ledo's - I can tolerate as my wife loves it.  Then I like Pizzeria UNO, but my wife does not like it.

For Mexican we do Guapo's which is pretty decent or one other place and the name escapes me at the minute.

Back home I have my favorite mom-and-pop pizzeria which is Sal's Pizzeria in the Bronx.  For BBQ - There's Dallas BBQ, which is good, but probably a steop behind Famous Dave's.  For burgers we have Jackson Hole.  The burgers are huge, slow cooked and oh so good.

Any place that meets my dietary restrictions is good by me (I'm essentially a vegetarian when I eat out).  Sub shops, delis and pizzerias usually do the trick in that regard, but finding a place to eat in parts of the world where the local cuisine is almost entirely meat-based can be difficult (i.e. Spain, France, New Orleans).  However, as a result of these dietary restrictions, I rarely get food out, and I couldn't tell you the last time I was at some of the chains mentioned in this thread.  For example, I haven't had anything to eat at a McDonalds since January 2007 when I was in Northern Israel (that McDonald's served Kosher meat but did not have rabbinical supervision, so an Orthodox Jew still wouldn't eat there).  I can't tell you the last time I actually went to McDonalds in the US, and using a McDonalds for a driving bathroom break while on the highway doesn't count.

I find the differences between chains to often be immaterial, so I'm rarely picky when it comes to things such as one pizza chain versus another.  I do have some favorite restaurants for special occasions, including one Italian place on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where the food is always great, and they make an amazing tiramisu there as well which is impossible to pass up.  Unfortunately, most Kosher restaurants outside of Israel (where everything is Kosher, to operate a non-Kosher restaurant there is a horrible business decision) are more expensive than other restaurants and tend to have slow, poor service, so it makes convincing other people to eat at those places rather difficult!

What I am looking forward to is being in Israel very soon, where I can eat out without needing to give significant thought to whether there actually something that I can eat at a restaurant.  And, I can eat all sorts of American chains that I don't actually frequent when I'm here in the US, such as McDonalds.  (It is funny, in the largest shopping malls in Jerusalem, if I showed you a photo of the food court, you would think you were in America.)

Ladies and Gentlemen: let's elevate this discussion away from assembly line chain eateries to fine dining experiences.  I will start with some of my greatest fine dining experiences:
1. The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas TX.
2. L'Oustalet at King Farm in Rockville MD (now closed unfortunately).
3. El Manantial in Reston VA.
4. Oceanaire in Washington DC.

I've alwys had a certain thing for Clyde's -- especially the one in Columbia on the lakefront ... as for the chains, we do have an UNO's out near Deep Creek Lake that's pretty good, other than that, we have a Ruby Tuesdays and an Applebees and a TON of Chinese buffets --- butas far as local restaurants go, When Pigs Fly in Cumberland is really good and The Hen House between Grantsville and Frostburg is really good --- best crabs this side of Frederck

At the old layover point for the routes J2, J4, J8, T16, R12 and the C2, as well as each buses successors and before the opening & moving of the end of the lines to the Greenbelt Metro, buses arriving at Beltway Plaza, could run into the mall entrance & go inside 50' to Three Brothers Pizza.

Many MANY a driver has been able to run in, grab a slice & coke to go, before getting back on the bus. There was also a Roy Rogers next to 3 Brothers if Pizza wasn't your thing.
