Have any of Northern's artics ever been on 90, 92 routes? From my experience, those routes need them.

2616 on the G8

Great...there goes almost all of FMR's non-branded John Deere Orion VIIs...I think 2636 and 2637 remain unless they are now PikeRide buses...

Besides that, the rest of the John Deeres are branded for the 16, 9S, and REX...so looks like VA is stuck with the slow Cummins Orion VIIs =(

Have you been over Ellington Bridge? Plus, if you take one artic away from a route that needs it, you'd probably end up with a crowded 40 footer.

The L2 was my first home route, does that answer your question?

And thank you for proving my point about the rampant misconceptions with regards to articulated buses on this message board.  There was a discussion about ways to assign artics to routes some time ago, I don't think we need another one to rehash the same points right now.

With regards to the OP that the 90 needs artics, just because a route is crowded does not mean that it "needs" or could be better served with artics.  I think that is all that needs to be said about the topic.

I saw 9489 on Fox45 News tonight. On a route that goes through College Park. Its still in the old red white blue scheme.

5404 (I think) on the 38 at Seven Locks and Democracy, on what should have been the 9:40 departure from Montgomery Mall.  Not sure which garage covers the evening 38 trips at this point or which garage 5404 actually belongs to at this point though.

Hmm...doesn't Nicholson do the 38 in the evenings?

Also, answering OrionFlyer's question...you said it 9489 was seen at College Park...so most likely it's a Landover bus (also with the fact that the other upper 9400s have moved there too).

I wonder if 9492 is also stuck with that scheme as well...
