I saw a VanGo bus coming off the 42 and signed for its next trip on the 11 during rush hour back in the summer of 2007.  Wasn't able to get a photo though unfortunately.

Speaking of which...I forgot to mention this on my other post.

Thursday Morning I saw 5831 coming into Shady Grove West and the sign said "49 ROCKVILLE" then the driver quickly changed it to "57 LAKEFOREST"...I'm wondering...could this be some random mistake or does Gaithersburg do the 49 again?

Yesterday (Friday, 04-03-09) around 5:00pm I saw 2600 on the 38B (Ballston Station) on Wilson Blvd near Court House station with a messed up destination sign:

"4477 BALLSTON STATION"

The four digit display returned.  Confused faces on those at the next stop.

All the Ride On buses have all the destinations.  For example, a cutaway could display 15 LANGLEY PARK, and any Silver Spring bus can display a Gaithersburg sign or vice versa.

Probably a driver's mistake.  As Oren says, RIDE ON as well as other T/As that have electronic signs have the ability to put mostly every, if not every destination in the T/A.   There are 2700s that might have the "F14 NEW CARROLLTON" in it, 6000s with "9A HUNTINGTON" in them and so on.  You never know what might happen, just like what happened years ago when RIDE ON had its fuel issue, granted some WMATA buses took over temporarily RIDE ON routes till the crisis was over but overall mostly all T/As will do it.

It could be a mistake or an emergency fill in for broken down Silver Spring bus, till another Silver Spring bus was found.
