Why does everyone keep saying the new paint job is red and silver? That's Orange and silver.

Have you actually seen the scheme in person?  Considering this is Washington, DC and not the Netherlands, why would they be painting buses orange?

They look orange in photos the same way the Ride On anniversary buses seem to be painted light blue in certain types of light.  But seriously, why would WMATA paint its buses orange?

You might need your eyes checked, because that looks red to me. It even looks close to San Diego's paint.

I would agree that it is bright, but in my mind these three are red/silver

To me this is orange/silver

There are countless automotive colors that are officially named one thing but look like another color entirely. The WMATA red was probably the result of a high content of yellow in the mix as well as some white to give it a high visual "pop" to catch the eye. In some lighting conditions it can look orange.

Some years ago when Marlboro cigarettes was the primary sponsor of the Ferrari Formula 1 team, purists complained that Marlboro's red was closer to orange than it was to pure Ferrari red. It was red, but a different shade.

If anyone has access to a color gamut ("draw" in MS Word) you'll probably see that WMATA's red is definitely in the red spectrum. Remember, the flag is RED, white and blue

It is red.

It's definitely not orange because WMATA's theme would be red white and blue...since it serves our nation's capital.

but if it does look orange to you, then you gotta get ur eyes checked (no offense, seriously)

Maybe it's just me. In bright sunlight, it looks orange. Here's what I think. Maybe WMATA should've painted it bright red so it wouldn't look orange in some conditions.

Spotted two New Flyer restyles in Express paint as well as a 42LFA at CET. I'm not sure if the Express painted buses were either C40LFRs or DE42LFAs (Only got a rear view from the train).
