Have the Washington area transit systems established a Smart Card Clearinghouse yet?

Thanks,

Chuck

They had to have already established one even in the first stages of Smartrip back in the late 90s. It's juist a matter of time before MTA joins that clearinghouse, the question is when.

There was no clearinghouse in 1999 when Smartrip was launched.  The clearinghouse came on line at about the time all the regional providers started accepting Smartrip, and the reason the regional bus Smartrip capabilities were delayed time and time again was because there were issues in setting the clearinghouse up.

To elaborate on what others have said, if there was no clearinghouse today, WMATA would be the only agency accepting Smartrip.
