This morning i had a few opportunies to shoot some video and a photo. Now here's the photo in question:

Now given it was 9 degrees with a wind chill of 0 to -2, was i crazy to do this or was i being a dedicated busfan?

Is there a contradiction between being crazy and a dedicated bus fan?  Thanks for the photograph and the single digit dedication.

Damn son. I though taking pics in 20 degree weather with 20-30mph wind gusts was crazy for me. That's just plain nuts. I hope you dressed up warm.

Hmm...I think since you are based out of Baltimore, you are crazy!  Although...those artics are hard to find up there, so it could be dedication. lol

Regardless, it's a great shot so it's worth it!
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Was there anything super special about the photo that you couldn't get on another occasion?  Did you go out of your way to do it?  Those are questions I'd ask to determine the answer.

I railfanned the A line out to Far Rockaway in New York City yesterday, since I wanted to ride/photograph the R40 slants on that line, as well as some other equipment that is soon to be reefed (photos to come).  I don't know how cold it was out there, but after spending 2 hours split between Chambers and Broadway/Nassau waiting for an R40 bound to the Rockaways, I spent 20 minutes waiting to photograph a slant set at Beach 67 and another 20 minutes at Broad Channel, and I was pacing up and down the platform to keep warm the entire time.

Anyway, nice photo, glad you had fun it seems.

it's pretty much the same thing with this shot. 9507 is slated for retirement very soon so maybe the last time...also it's on a line it really doesn't service on too much. For me it was all about timing and luck.
