I never thought I would see this again in a LONG time...

5588 was on the 54 northbound on Sam Eig Hwy and Washingtonian Blvd ramp...I couldn't believe it

I was wondering if anybody was going to spot her today. It is a loaner that was brought up this morning. As of now she is still on the same V7 block.

Also to note all of Nicholson's Gillig Phantoms (5417-5423) were operating out of Gaithersburg on Inauguration Day. It was weird to see them doing the 64 & 65 to Montgomery Village.

Gaithersburg did'nt make "count" this morning and Silver Spring had some extra buses thus you these units going upcounty for the day. If 5588 stays up there through the evening rush you will see it on the 43,43,90,90,43,43 & 78. 5594 is also up there on the V1 block which will be on the 58,56,63 & 57. They will both probably return to Silver Spring tonight.

I'm going to go to Shady Grove in literally 20 minutes...hope I can find one of those buses. Wow this is great...even if it's just for one day.

How in the heck does a 35 footer end up on the 401.  This route gets packed as hell.

Same goes with why does 4390 end up on the F4.

Bus shortages aren't good, if that is the case in both instances.

eh...it tends to happen sometimes...like sometimes Ride-On's 55 gets 35-footers when it usually gets 40-footers, as well as Ride-On's 70. Both those routes can be packed as hell at times. I've even seen Orion Is on the 55 (30-footer)...in that case, I DON'T wanna ride those buses.

Oh btw this morning I went to Germantown Transit Center and saw 2 of the baby Gilligs (5003 and 5005), 5005 was on the 83 to Milestone and then while boarding a 55 bus, I saw a Gillig Phantom turning right on Aircraft Dr from Century Blvd (where the 83 westbound goes). I couldn't see the number of the bus or route, and I know Nicholson has 5417-5423, but this one sounded like it had a Detroit Diesel engine. 5400 or 5401 maybe? other bus?
