...in that you won't be using a Camera!

Here's a concept.  With Google now offering street level views of a sizable amount of the area at http://maps.google.com , let's see who can come up with the clearest, brighest "transit photo" in the DC area on Google Maps.  Admittedly, the image quality can be hit and miss - some images are dark and muddy, but others (take a peek at North Capitol and Massachusetts) are startingly clear.

The trick will be finding a clear, unobstructed, and undistorted image of a transit vehicle (admittedly probably a bus) running around the area.  From there, you should be able to use the "link" button button to copy the URL to the clipboard, and paste it in your reply.

To find the street level view, zoom in a good bit, then "drag" the man on the left border to light up streets that have the ground view, and you'll be treated with a 360 view of that street that you can move along to scout out your "shot."

I guess end of month would be a good deadline where we can post a poll.

To keep it from getting muddy, I guess we should limit it to two entries per person.  First person to submit an entry of the same "shot" gets dibs.

Here's a sample shot to show you what I'm talking about - here's #2605 heading inward on M Street on the 38B:

Eastbound Blue line train on elevated crossing Benning Road west of the Anacostia River.

Same train as it passes through the interlocking at the west end of the pocket in D&G Junction.

Wow, so far I'm impressed!

I've found one entry I like so far, but want to find another to pair with it in the same post.  At least I hope you guys are having a little fun with this!

Tritransit Area

Hmm!  And here I thought it was only for something for the street view!
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...
