Here are some suggestions:

Pentagon
Pentagon City
Silver Spring
New Carrollton
Rosslyn
Downtown DC

I can meet you guys just about anywhere, but these are my top choices.

Cool, December 26th is a day where I'm lucky to be off!  Please let me know what time you guys are planning to meet up so I know when to get down there.  If before like 9:30 or so, I guess I can meet y'all elsewhere.

I was thinking about going to NY for the vintage buses, but the assignment is so random and rare that it's just about not worth it.

FYI, while Silver Spring would normally be my preferred meeting place, since it's under construction and buses are every which way (including at the top of the hill for Ride-On's Langley Park buses), another place may be better.  I'd prefer a location in Maryland or a place that's off the Green, Yellow, or Red Lines.
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Looks like December 26 it is.  Seems like our goals are:

-TheBus Gilligs (Scary that they're on the top of the list)
-60BRTs/SFWs/whatever they're called (I haven't been so confused over a bus model number since GM was in the business......)
-Anyone still looking for ART NABIs?
-Metro-Bs anyone?

Other suggestions are welcome.  We'll decide a meeting place once we decide where we're going - wouldn't make sense to meet at Tysons Corner if we're going to spend all day in Downtown DC.

Good idea. I would like a ride on ART's NABIs. Also think about this Tristan:

-60-SFWs = old NABIs
-60-BRTs = new NABIs

Anyone down for December 26?

I would if the damn MARC train was running. (expletive) furloughs.

Dunno where you are coming from, but would the LRT/B30 combo work for you?

Wherever we are meeting, please keep it on Metrorail.  I'm not even sure how to get to Tysons Corner after all. :)

Also, can we please find Metro Es? I need my farewell ride on one of them too...thankfully I already obtained on for the Metro Bs (9318) and Metro Ds (9744).

They aren't going anywhere but we can find one anyway.

-60-BRTs
-TheBus Gilligs
-ART NABIs
-Metro-Bs
-Metro-Es

Okay, what time do you want to wake up?  I think MD in the AM, DC towards midday, VA in the PM would work but only if you RISE AND SHINE! (Who am I to talk?)

Depends on the meeting time and place. The earliest i can get to Greenbelt is 730 in the morning.

DANG!!!! The 26th is kinda early. I was looking at between the 29th-Jan. 2nd.

After that, I'll have to wait untill my B-Day (Jan. 22) to get some hot D.C. bus-on-bus action.

I'll TRY to fit things into the 26th. If I can get it in, I'll be in D.C. around 9am (cuz that's when Eastern Shuttle gets to D.C.)

As for my suggestions:

1. I overdone Ride On last time. It's time for Round 2 with DASH.
2. I say YES to some Connector action, I CRAVE another ride on an RTS.
3. PG?!!?! Why not?? I'm up for some more Gillig action, perhaps another Thomas or two?!
4. Metros, Metros, and more Metros, preferably the E's. I'll catch the first one I see. And this time, I'll bring my camera.

It is whatever.

Tristan

Okay since two people so far have objected to the 26th, how does everyone feel about the 29th?  Is it any worse than the 26th?

Rats, unfortunately I can't do the 29th...that's the day I go back to work.  If it's easier for others to do the 29th, feel free to make that arrangement - if anyone would like to meet up on the 26th, I'll be free as I'll probably will make my way down there anyway.  Please keep me in the loop!

Also, aren't the Es going into the contingency fleet along with the Ds? If so, I likely won't be able to grab one, as weekdays off (with weekday service levels) are pretty rare for me.

PRTC might be fun too!

Scrabbleship

Neither works for me. Going to be over in Connecticut and New York the 26th and work needs me on the 29th.

The disadvantages of just going full time at work and in turn having little time off to spend...

WES

Can't do the 26th.  The 29th seems better.
