I emailed them, and this is what they said:

All Metrobus routes in Maryland are dependent on subsidies from the State of Maryland in order to operate. Without increases in available funding from the State, it is a challenge to increase Metrobus service, later in the evening or on weekends.

Our staff continually evaluates the need for new services Countywide.  Prince George's County is in the final development stage of the County's next Five-Year Transit Service and Operations Plan (TSOP). The purpose of the TSOP is to identify existing and future transit demand in Prince George's County, evaluate the effectiveness of the existing transit bus network in meeting demand, and recommend improvements where existing services are insufficient to meet needs. At this point in the development of the TSOP, weekend and later evening services have emerged as improvements deserving of greater funding levels in coming years.

Two Metrobus routes which operate in the vicinity of Bladensburg High School are recommended for expanded weekend service in the TSOP.  In implementation year 1 of the TSOP, Metrobus Route T18 (Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail Station to New Carrollton Metrorail Station) is recommended for expanded Saturday morning service.  The first trip would leave at 7AM versus 8:26AM currently.  Also, as you may be aware, earlier Sunday service from the Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail Station began on Sunday, September 28, 2008.  A bus now leaves at 8:15 AM versus 9AM previously.  In implementation year 5, Metrobus Route 84, 85 (Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail Station to New Carrollton Metrorail Station) is recommended for expanded Saturday morning service so that the first trip leaves at 7AM versus 8:13AM currently.  Saturday evening service would expand so that the last trip leaves at 7:15PM versus 6:15PM currently.

Other Metrobus routes in the Bladensburg vicinity recommended for expanded weekend service in the TSOP are the routes F1,2, F8, and 84,85.  Metrobus route F8 is also recommended for weekday expanded service.

Again thank you for your interest in improving our public transportation services. Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Mr. James E. Raszewski, Chief, Transit Division, at (301) 883-5656. For further information about other DPW&T and County services or activities, please visit our website at www.princegeorgescountymd.gov.

Also: 82% voted for the P.G Transportation Bond. Hopefully, that means there is hope for transportation in P.G.
