Oh!  BTW, is GEORGE still running with those SLFs?  And where are some good places to catch Howard Transit and Corridor Transit (Connect-A-Ride) in the area?  I just want pics of them...I'd rather not waste time on cutaways when I can ride beautiful Flxible Metros!

On that note...WMATA Flxibles (of all series) are now hard to find on weekends, aren't they?  :'(
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Well in case you want to know about the Connect-A-Ride and Howard, catch them at Laural Mall. They all stop there. Try catching routes G & H at Greenbelt and College Park Station. Catch Route D at Burtonsville Park & Ride.

Yes it is hard to find the Flx's on weekends. Surprisingly, at a time I was working on a Saturday, I saw 9765 & 9766 on the T18  ??? . Yeah I didn't get that, but hey...

Another thing. GEORGE is still running the SLFs.

Just a few pictures:

And of course, the Metrobus....

I love the flags on the buses.  For more pictures of transit in the DC area, please don't hesitate to view the DC Area Transit section of my Photobucket. Hopefully most of these pics will soon appear in the DCATZ gallery.

Nice shots.  I like when Metrobuses have the flags too.  I really like to see the flying in the wind when the bus is moving like in this shot below.

Thanks!  They do look great when in motion.  Hey, when do they fly the flags?  I imagine on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, but when else?

I think they used to only do it on July 4th.  Now, they also seem to do it every Memorial Day, September 11th, Inauguration Day, and also Veterans Day.

Oren, I think you're correct.  They also put them on the buses assigned to shuttles for the air show at Andrews Air Force Base.

As much as I like the flags, it's sad that I have very few pics of buses with flags, seeing as I've been taking pics regularly since 2001.

I would cut yourself some slack, Wayne.  They only do it 4 days a year, and they aren't days that lend themselves well to busfanning as it is.
