By the way, I meant no offense or diversion when I said I would split the topic -- feel free to continue with the discussion, it was a good discussion to have...I was just saying to expect a new topic if there was any more demand for the subject.

Regarding paint schemes, I'm not saying they aren't doing anything, what I'm saying is that I personally - being the info hog I am - have not seen a stitch of information anywhere saying that suddenly starting tomorrow buses all over the region are going to start looking different.  It sounds like someone just woke up and decided to expect things starting Monday morning, and I haven't seen anything to support that; if there was a press release somewhere, share it.

I have to agree with you Tristan. But sometimes, they ay not put it on the website. Maybe some info is at the headquarters or on a peice of paper or something. They don't put EVERYTHING on a website you know.

I understand...but again, I haven't even seen where anyone here has said, word of mouth, that these buses are going to be on the streets tomorrow.  If there's ANY evidence at all, holla back.  Otherwise, I wouldn't hijack threads to ask AGAIN about this (one question has been asked 4+ times in the last week and I think no one has answered because no one has any info).

True. But aren't the 60-BRTs going to be on the streets tomorrow, or am I off subject again.

I think the thing is, unless I see a B30 bus in the new "express" paint scheme I don't believe it.  There maybe one but again unless I see one I don't believe it.

Yes, the 60BRTs are going into service tomorrow.  That's all that's been said.

I just walked out of Union Station toward North Capitol when I saw this baby coming down on the D3. Not my best work but I had to get shots of it somehow.

The PDf file on WMATA's website said that other buses besides the NABI artics that are in the new scheme were going to start service today as well. Thats why I was asking about the Express theme on the B30.

Okay, that's the ace in the hole I was looking for.  And of course, as the photos show...

The whole issue is that I was wondering why it seemed to suddenly be such a big deal about Monday when no one had initially said anything was going to happen on Monday, other than NABIs.  With that explained, there's no more problem.

I was expecting the C40LFRs to get Express paint - guess not.  Since they're local config, I guess it makes sense anyway.

Heading to DC this afternoon - what a yucky day for a bus debut though!

Tristan

K went out for lunch and realized just how crummy it was...will NOT be going to DC this evening!

Man, that C40LFR is super sexy with those colors. Now let's see a Flxible or and Orion with those colors.

Flxible - doubt it (unfortunately...) due to the fact that they might retire within a year or 2 since the new large order of hybrids will come soon. come to think of it, 9492 still has the old scheme.

Orion - now that would be pretty cool, especially the VIIs

I wouldn't be surprised if  6040 - 6050 get the new paint scheme soon.
