(regarding 6040)

I think someone said it was painted in the express scheme? or local or something like that
anyways, how long has it been since that train collision? I'm thinking it's been out of service longer than 5818 has for Ride On (speaking of which, anyone have any news about 5948?)

I just checked, it's in the express scheme.You know, I'm starting to wonder if it was rehabbed during its 35-month hiatus. What about 6137? Could it have been decked out in the local scheme/rehabbed during its sojourn at Blade?

Sadly, I have not heard anything about 5948, nor have I seen it since the accident.

5948 looks like its being parted out. It can be seen from the street when driving up Crabbs Branch Rd.

2618 is still offline, as is 2706... If neither of them reappears at Johnson Truck Center, I'll eat my socks.

NewFlyer9736BCT

6040 at the DC DMV. Should be back in service by next week (or maybe sooner, who knows) after about 3 years of playing dead

Attention patrons of the forums:

<body copyright="All data copyright WMATA Washington 2012.">
<vehicle id="6040" routeTag="F4" dirTag="F4_F4_1" lat="38.960049" lon="-76.916428" secsSinceReport="410" predictable="true" heading="255" speedKmHr="37.008"/>
</body>

That is all.

EDIT: After spending almost FIVE months in rehab, 2634 is FINALLY returning to Four Mile Run... possibly. GPS shows it's traveling on the inner loop of the Beltway, near Van Dorn Metro.

<body copyright="All data copyright WMATA Washington 2012.">
<vehicle id="2634" lat="38.801182" lon="-77.114532" secsSinceReport="635" predictable="false" heading="240" speedKmHr="74.016"/>
</body>

And it's replacement at Bladensburg is 2662. (another 2600? I'm getting sick of this happening)

<body copyright="All data copyright WMATA Washington 2012.">
<vehicle id="2662" lat="38.923889" lon="-76.9702609" secsSinceReport="3051" predictable="false" heading="-4" speedKmHr="0.0"/>

DOUBLE EDIT: Yep, I knew it. 2634 is indeed back.

finally 2634 is back! glad to finally see this day.

In regards to the recent incident involving 6105 at Penn and Southern Ave SE, 6105 awaits repairs at Bladensburg (damage doesn't seem too bad, shouldn't take too long)

<vehicle id="6105" routeTag="M6" lat="38.920891" lon="-76.970367" secsSinceReport="10664" predictable="false" heading="-4" speedKmHr="0.0"/>

Judging from its seconds count, I'd say 3003 is also getting 'habbed.

<vehicle id="2726" lat="38.842899" lon="-77.052437" secsSinceReport="5967" predictable="false" heading="-4" speedKmHr="0.0"/>

and another fellow 2700 replaces it

Speaking of 2726, before it showed up at Blade, it was at Johnson Truck Center. At the top of page 29, I mentioned that Johnson was capable of doing warranty work on John Deere engines. Put 2 and 2 together, and I think there's a slight chance that this bus could still have its John Deere intact. It probably was repowered like everyone else, but there is a chance it was spared from that. No pun intended.

In unrelated news, 5308 is at Montgomery.

<body copyright="All data copyright WMATA Washington 2012.">
<vehicle id="5308" lat="39.045712" lon="-77.10788" secsSinceReport="7370" predictable="false" heading="-4" speedKmHr="0.0"/>
</body>

EDIT: I did a headcount of all unrehabbed Orion VIIs. They are broken down thus:
2503-2615: 38 buses
2616-2685, 2700s: 47 buses
30-footers: 13 buses
Overall Cummins/John Deere ratio: 52/46 (remember, 2679 is repowered, but not rehabbed)

I hope that WMATA alternates which buses it rehabs from here on out. (for instance; 2515, then 2644, then 2573, etc.)
