Jackie Jeter is at it again (from Fox 5)

Remember the whole bus slowdown situation from last Fall that sputtered out after a week? This seems like that all over again. Is there any other city where stuff like this happens?

Why...oh why...did an operator come so close to another train where he had to "avoid hitting it"?  Slowing down the system is only going to make things worse.  Is the union trying to tell people that the operators are incapable of safety operating trains at the speed the system was designed for?

I'm sorry, but Metrorail is too f-ing expensive for this kind of operation to be acceptable.  Do what they need to fix the problem, make sure the operators are comfortable doing their job of manually operating the train, and hopefully things won't be too bad.
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Yeah, agreed.  Metro costs too much to ride to slow down operations indefinitely.  They would have to make a BIG cut in the fares to get anyone to agree to that little number...
