Their other big deal would be more original routes...maybe the county is trying to increase service on Metro routes at a lower cost by duplicating them with DUH routes, but that only works if they're scheduled at least some time later than the Metrobus in front...

Taking those resources that go into duplication and putting them into completely new service areas would help a lot with the county's transit situation.

Maybe a chance of conscience is in mind for them. Also, PG needs to really put transportation forefront. It's a shame where the rail operates later than anything in the county (even on weekdays) and there is no extended Friday service runs on the buses. The county needs to get out of a 9-5 mindset.

As for the F6, C2, I honestly think the early service ending is due to the gate closing at UMD at 11pm. Even though there is an alternate routing (which bypasses those lesser used stops), there still can be service past 845pm eastbound and 1025pm westbound.

Here's what I conclude:

Best large T/A: WMATA and SF Muni. I like NJ Transit 'cause they're diverse.
Best County T/A: Ride On
Best City T/A: DASH

Since it's not happening, again I have to go back to the elected officials.  The residents really need to let them know that they're frustrated with the sub-par bus service.  I think it's darn near criminal how PG county has such little bus service, especially outside of regular business hours.  A lot of the residents let the county officials off the hook because they think WMATA is the problem.  More service is a win-win for everyone as it would eventually affect the county's economy in a positive way.

I think the decision makers are clueless, don't care or both.

I did what I could. I emailed them, I asked all of this blah, blah, blah and well all I have to say is I can't be a one man army. With a county of 900,000 people, it would help if people actually did something about this.

The C2 is funded by Montgomery County, so that's on their dime to decide how long to operate it. If PG would kick in something more I'm sure they could extend the service a bit more taking out the UMD part.  Lots of buses divert from malls or other things that make no sense or can't get into late in the evening/early AM.

The F6 should really operate 7 days a week or at least on Saturdays.  I felt that way way before the F6 was in this configuration when it used to operate from Silver Spring to Greenbelt Center.

That's good that you've taken some action.  The problem is that more people have to do the same.  You're correct that other county residents have to get involved.  This is one of those things where the power is in numbers.  You may have to do it onver and over.  Also, you may want to tell others you know to do the same.
