Once the X9 comes up, the X3 will be history. It's one of those unnecessary routes thats being duplicated by the X2 and the 90s.

dead serious. I was kinda surprised as I know they're usually on the X2 not X3, but I guess that's what interlining does. I do see how that line is kinda pointless though...most of it runs the same way as the 90, 92, and 96 does, until it gets past Florida and 8th NE, where Minnesota Ave Station isn't too far away.

Gaithersburg to Rockville Ride On round-trip on 4/16/2010 to meet a friend for lunch:
1) Boarded (04)5926 (Orion VII CNG) operating route 54 (destination Rockville) at Muddy Branch Road and School Drive (Gaithersburg) on time.  The bus had no working A/C and no working GPS or stop announcements, however, the date and time indicator was operating.  The operator loudly complained about the non-working A/C and pleaded with passengers to open all the windows.
2) Return trip to Gaithersburg boarded (05)5938 (Orion VII CNG) operating route 54 (destination Lakeforest) at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville.  The bus had working A/C but no working GPS, no stop announcements and no date and time indicator.  The operator was mercifully silent.  The temperature rose to about 85 degrees.
