Im thinking WMATA could possibly get some NovaBus LFS Busses (http://images.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&q=novabus+LFS&btnG=Search+Images) and gillig advantages and Orion VII NG and some new flyer D60's. What do you guys think?

LandoverDivision

Probably not. They are talking about the BRT buses for the next 5 years. It would be good if they do get some NovaBuses and Gillig Advantages although the Advantages would be used for less densified routes.

If it's the LFS in the upcoming configuration in which the engine is like in most other buses, then I'd be all for it given the improvements they've made to the model.

If it's the LFS we're all familiar with with the vertically-mounted engine, not so much. Having ridden LFS's almost daily for 2.5 years, it would be like going back and getting more Orion VI's with their same problems.

OrionFlyer

No. They're just getting New Flyer BRT Hybrids 40fts and 60fts, but thats just 203 buses. But I don't know for 2010 and beyond.

These are where they are going. Looks like Annex, Four Mile, and Arlington aren't getting anything for now :

161 42ft BRT New Flyer Hybrids:

48 for Landover
38 for Montgomery
30 for Northern
20 for Western
25 for West Ox

22 62ft BRT New Flyer Hybrids:

11 for Northern
11 for Montgomery

20 - 37ft New Flyer BRT Hybrids:

5 for Bladensburg
15 for Western

Blue Line Shuttle to Franconia-Springfield.

Want me to make a destination sign for you? Just send me a PM and I'll have it made in no time.

Hello to all

I was just wondering when northern gets the new 62ft BRT r they getting rid of the 5300's ????????????????????????

I like them
What kinda buses are going to pop up next  ...................

OrionFlyer

No, they're not getting rid of them. WMATA probably won't get rid of those until sometime after 2018.

I wonder if BladensburgB2 was asking if the arrival of the new Northern tics means the Neos will be displaced to other garages?

Perry

That's what the question sounds like.  I'm sure those things could use a little TLC at Montgomery. :-)

I agree.  I had an opportunity to observe Novas in Charlotte NC which is overrun with them and they are truly ugly.
