NJT starts construction of the Pennsauken Transit Center

THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER reported on October 20, 2009 that a groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 19, 2009 to start "construction of a $40 million train station to connect the east-west Atlantic City Line and the north-south River Line.  The station will open in three years."  "Patrons of the Pennsauken Transit Center will be able to board trains on the River Line, which runs between Trenton and Camden, and the Atlantic City Line, which operates between 30th Street Station in Philadelphia and Atlantic City."  The two-level Pennsauken station will be built where the Atlantic City Line crosses above the River Line, near Derousse Avenue west of River Road."
