MBTA guys also haven't had the year from hell and their "(Agency) is worse than the devil" site (the old BadTransit) fell by the wayside.

BadTransit was to the MBTA what UnsuckDCMetro is to WMATA.

If you guys missed the Grand Opening but care to see the place, A) I can give you a separate tour, and B) News Channel 8 came out on Friday: http://www.news8.net/news/stories/1109/680294.html

Route Rex destination Woodlawn.

Tritransit Area

QuoteEach bus gets washed every night and the new water filter system recycles 86 percent of the water used.

WOW!  Each bus? EVERY night? I'm jealous!
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Back in my old neck of the woods, buses were lucky to get washed once a month. Tops. Even in winter when rock salt and snow would take their toll and coat the windows with grime to the point you could barely see out of them.

Either the TA's down here (not just DASH but I haven't even seen a dirty Ride On bus) excel at their game...or CDTA and their company suck very bad.

We actually wash all of our buses that comes out of service every night. I think its a regular pull-in procedure for a lot of TAs.

We do the same thing....all buses that come through to get fueled get washed as well.  We have some blocks that last close to 24 hours so sometimes it's a challenge for them to squeeze everything through, but fortunately it's not my problem to deal with.  I just schedule those buses to run until the wheels fall off of them since we only have so many vehicles to do what we need them to do.

Same in NYC.  The bus operator pulls the bus just inside of the depot.  Then a driller takes over and they probe the farebox, check the fluids and refuel the bus.  And if there's no issues and no hold order for the bus, it will be parked on one of the pull-out lanes.
