I see its an Orion Bus. They used to have a TMC bus, numbered in the 514X series (X = Wild card number. .  Im thinking 6)

By chance, do you know what the former Ride-On stock number was of this bus?

ThankYou for sharing this with all of us.

Wow, a 25 year old bus.  I remember riding them from the Kids 'R Us on the 46 way back when.

Even back in the day, before the CNG/hybrid age, Gaithersburg and Silver Spring had different fleets.
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Yeah on the different fleets.

In '89 Silver Spring Ride-On had 2 types of vehicles.
TMC "CityCruisers" (5100 - 5220) & Gillig "Phantoms" (5300-5356)
We/They (Silver Spring Ride-On) also had some refurbs 5400-5429, but they were refurb'd TMC's.

Gburg at the time ('89) had some TMC's And Orions (5221 thru 5299? Not sure of final bus number)

It was to 5297 for the 1984 Orion I's.

Attached is a pic I got from the stairwell of the EOB and it was 5267.

Very nice!  I like the paint scheme.  Also, you Orion I fans will be very happy about the news I have for what's coming up in January.

Contact me for details. :)
Once all the goats are rounded up, the German tourists are extradited, and the syrup trucks are returned, you'll have to admit that you never saw that one coming.
