Union Station Centennial Celebration

On October 4th and 5th 2008 there will be a 100 year anniversary celebration at Union Station.  AMTRAK will have an equipment display and there will be private railroad cars also.  Private cars rock and I would love to have one.  Imagine having a 90 ton toy that needs to be pulled by a locomotive!!!

I know a guy who co-owns a private railcar yet takes the subway to deal with it...talk about a purist :-)

I wonder how much each of us would have to chip in to get a DCATZ Penthouse Railcar?  Let's see if we can get in on one of those VRE-esque $1 Gallery Car deals and pimp it out, complete with La-Z-Boys and stripper poles from the loft to the floor

I would definitely contribute to that undertaking.  Now is the time to find the gallery car since so many of them are being replaced with new ones.  The only problem would be finding storage space for it.
