ummmm....was that first photo taken @ the Pentagon???

that's a BIG no-no...u can get in trouble for that...with the tight security and all those rules and stuff...

oh btw what camera do u use? i like how your night pics are not so blurry. Mine, on the other hand, can't take dark photos for $h*t, because of this, I got a very blurry shot of 5721 on the 61 saying "Mont College Germantown" and an extremely blurry shot of 5005 on the 79 (I had to delete that one =( )

I use a Samsung S730. I'm going to upgrade to a new and improved camera when I get the money to buy one. And thanks for the compliment. I've taken photos at the Pentagon plenty of time and nobody said anything. I think the photo rule is for the inside of the building. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Look carefully next time.  I know for a fact that there are signs there prohibiting photography.  I don't recall if the signs are all over the transit center, but just recently I was walking from the Metrorail station and as you reach the bus platform there is a sign in plain view of a camera with the red circle/slash.   If you haven't been caught, then luck has been on your side.  However, this is another one of those things that is just not worth the trouble you could get into.  Some of you guys are young, but please don't make a senseless mistake that could possibly haunt you into adulthood.

You are wrong, and we are correcting you.  Photography is not permitted on the Pentagon grounds, including at the bus terminal and in the Metro station, EXCEPT at the 9/11 memorial.

well consider that your last photo at the Pentagon, not that I have ever taken photos there but you do NOT wanna deal with the feds, as much as I, you, and every transit enthusiast wants to take pics there, we simply cant.

and IIRC you can't miss those "Photography Prohibited" signs, they're everywhere.

while we're on this topic, is there any other place besides the Pentagon and within WMATA property where we can't take bus pics?

Photography is permitted in all publically accessible areas of the Metro system (aside from Pentagon) subject to some other regulations (no tripod, no flash, etc) as explained in this document: http://www.wmata.com/about_metro/docs/UseRegulations.pdf.  However, photographing infrastructure such as tunnels may raise some eyebrows, even if you are doing it "legally."

Photography of buses is a gray area of sorts, because as a general rule,  photography can't be restricted on public rights of way, such as a street.  However, exceptions to this can apply, such as at the Pentagon.
