Hey everyone this is George...
Born in south Florida, lived there until early 1999. Moved to Gaithersburg and lived here ever since. I got into transit in 2005, first it was Ride-On, then WMATA, then the whole DC area, then every TA in the US that I encounter. Ride-On's 5589 was the first bus picture I ever took, the first of thousands of pictures in my website at www.gpbusgallery.com

I just graduated from the dreadful world of high school this June, now I attend Montgomery College as a freshman, I don't know my major yet but I will figure it out soon enough.

Besides buses, I like photography, maps, computers, electronics, and Guitar Hero (you'll be surprised...). I speak fluent English and Spanish and I am taking French in college.

Hi,
I'm Matt'. I am the proprietor of Track Twenty-Nine (http://tracktwentynine.blogspot.com/). I'm a graduate student in the planning program at the University of Maryland. I've lived in DC for a little over a year now and am currently located in the Petworth neighborhood.

I originally hail from outside Atlanta, and some of my earliest memories of the city are riding the West Line in from Hightower (now HE Holmes). I've always been fascinated by trains, and rail transit is my biggest interest there.

I'm glad to have found this forum. Keep up the good work!

Welcome Matt.  I reviewed your blog and it is very professional and informative.  I need to go back to your blog and respond to some of the "hate" about the ICC.  I live in Gaithersburg and I am an avid supporter of the ICC.  I believe in a balanced transportation sysyem and the ICC is part of the balance.  It is an outrage that three contiguous counties with populations aproaching 2,500,000 have no really viable cross-county transportation connections.  Thank you.

LandoverDivision

Maybe I should say more about myself.

Ok name is Brandon, live in Landover, MD, but i'm originally from D.C. Born and raised in the D.C Area. Loved WMATA ever since I was a newborn but I didn't really get into transit as much as I am now until around '05, '06ish. I love the TAs al around our area and in Baltimore (yeah I said it). Planning on moving to Arlington, VA (where my college is) after high school. I may work for WMATA, DASH, FFX, or ART (since by mid-late 2009 i'll be in Arlington). My college majors are Photographic Imaging, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, and Web Design. I'm looking forward to traveling the world 2010 and beyond.

P.S If anyone visits P.G County, hit me up and we can busfan.

Hey all, I guess I should introduce myself.

Like landoverdivision, my name is Brandon.  I was born in D.C., and raised in the Philadelphia area as well as in the Hyattsville/Langley Park/Silver Spring area of MD.  While my residence is in Pennsylvania, I always consider the DC area as my second home, and try to return as often as life allows.

In the DC Area, my favorite TA has been and probably will always be Ride On.  I like to say I've witnessed this company grow up, from the time the LARGEST bus was 30ft long with those wonderful TMCs, '89 Gilligs, and the then new (but now old) Orion Is, until today when the system became such an admirable service, with a high use of alternative fuels and frequent service.  Of course, I always have and always will rep the 16 as my home route - it runs closer to me than PG THE BUS does, after all.

Of course, it's still a pleasure to ride any TA in the DC Area, and hopefully the people in the DC crew and I will be able to catch up once again.  It was great meeting all of you for that New Years Eve (?) trip that one year, and hanging out occasionally afterwards.

In my life in PA, I was fortunate enough to grab the position of Transit Service Coordinator for TMA Bucks, a non-profit Transportation Management Association for Bucks County, PA - a suburb of Philadelphia.  It's been a great fit, as I manage the 5 Job Access Reverse Commute Shuttles (dubbed rushbus) as well as help promote and answer questions about transit in Bucks County.  I even get to work with SEPTA from time to time, including participating as a stakeholder in meetings about the new payment technology that they are working to implement on the system.  It's been only 3 months, and a good bit of work, but it's very satisfying.

Posted below - our first [soon to be] CNG bus!  Also, attached is an image of Ride-On as it was as i was a kid.  It's not my picture, and unfortunately I dunno who took it, but it's great.

My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Ok My name is Delonta Born in Southeast D.C., loved buses, trucks, and cars since I was little, I lived in Southeast all of my life and as my name states I live on WMATA's Southern Avenue Annex Division,(Originally lived on the Southeastern RIP). I am a graduate of Ballou Senior High School, class of 2008 and I am now in college for Bussiness Administration (Originally planned to go for music), but anywho I have goals to check out other T/A's all over the U.S. Although Southeast is considered "the hood" it's still a good place to live despite all the crime that happens here, and a good place to bus fan so hit me up if you're in the DC area and we can us fan someday.
