Just a reminder that Beth and I are coming up next weekend as part of our wedding anniversary celebration.  Plan is to arrive early Thursday evening and stay through Monday AM.  Congrats to Chris and Nicole, and we look forward to your wedding as well.  If anyone is interested in doing some busfanning and can tell me where to find Xcelsiors (and possibly FFX RTSes), give me a shout.  Our minivan is currently in the shop for electrical bugs but should hopefully be back in service in time for the trip.  As a backup, I have looked at Megabus and the round trip will be $77-102 as of this writing, depending on how late we return.

P.S.: I will check the usual TA entity sources, but in the meantime, transit advice from any of you on the best way to get from the Extended Stay America in Alexandria to Metro, Old Town, etc. will be much appreciated.

Hope to see everyone soon, and I will bring a few models for folks to peruse- including my new HO scale D40LF, which is available now in limited quantities!

Once all the goats are rounded up, the German tourists are extradited, and the syrup trucks are returned, you'll have to admit that you never saw that one coming.

You can find FFX Connector RTSs at West Falls Church during weekday rush hours and FFX Connector Xcelsiors mostly at Vienna Metro weekdays, all day long (but the midday and late evening buses only run once an hour or so).  Lots of buses at both West Falls Church and Vienna during weekday rush hours.  Some FFX Xcelsiors can be found on routes 310 and 335 in southern Fairfax as West Ox runs the 310 and 335 on weekdays (Huntington operates the 310 on weekends).

For WMATA Xcelsiors, you'll have to look in D.C. or Md.; none at Royal Street or West Ox (N.Va.).  I see them frequently on the D6 and 80 routes.

Thanks for the info.  Just as I suspected- the oldest stuff at FFX runs weekdays, and WMATA's goodies are in DC/MD...and not VA.  Funny how the latter rule now applies to the newest stuff, and not the oldest.  So what's mostly in VA these days....is it still VIIs all the time?

If you're lucky, West Ox will assign an Xcelsior FFX Connector routes 425 and 427 (West Ox began running the 425,427 earlier this year) and you will see all types of the fleet in one place at West Falls Church: RTS, Orion V, New Flyer D40LF, New Flyer Xcelsior.

As for WMATA, Four Mile Run is all Orion VII (except for the TAGS shuttle buses); Royal St is all Orion V, and West Ox is Orion V/VI and the BRT 42' New Flyers.
