Wayne. Have you been following the dispute btw NYCMTA and Nassau County regarding Long Island Bus?

Yes, I have.  The MTA has moved forward with it's plans to shed LIB from it's operations.  I think the board voted last week.  I suspect that the MTA really does want to dump LIB, however, I also suspect that at some point in the 11th hour... The powers-that-be will take some action to keep the MTA operating LIB.  The separation of the MTA and LIB can certainly happen, but it begs the question: If Nassau County can't pay the MTA... how will they pay a contractor to operate LIB?

Mr Pete.  In regards to the MTA in New York... There's no "NYCMTA".  The MTA is a state agency.
