Silverliner V prototype for SEPTA unveiled

The September 11, 2008 edition of THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER ran an article with interior and exterior pictures of the first-off new Silverliner V (EMU) prototype.  They will be manufactured by Hyundai Rotem in South Philadelphia.  SEPTA purchased 120 of them and the first cars are expected to enter service in the fall of 2009.  "The prototype Silverliner V will be brought to Suburban Station for public examination sometime this fall, SEPTA officials said."  It's time for a road trip!
