On Black Friday, I traveled to the Tri-State Area of New Jersey, New York & Connecticut. Here's some examples of NJ Transit:

Newark

Two RTSs, both built by NovaBus are seen parked outside of Newark-Penn Station:

GOBus, a BRT Styled limited bus service runs on two routes, here is GOBUS 25 using RTSs:

GOBUS 28, the other route using 2009 model NABIs wrapped as well. Here's 5321 on its way to Bloomfield Rail Station:

NJ Transit also runs Neoplan AN-460s 60 foot artics in Transit and Suburban styles. Here are two Transit Style Neos in Downtown:

Jersey City

Flxible is also a big part of NJ Transit's Fleet. On their way to be replaced in the near future, Flxibles are still ran across the state. Here's Metro D #1826 leaving Journal Square Rail Station in Jersey City:

Outside of GOBUS, NJ Transit operates about 125 NABIs in Northern New Jersey. Despite being Suburban Styled, these NABIs are used in local service. Here is 5278 on layover inside Platform C:

NJ Transit also leases some of their buses to independent companies. Here is Montgomery & Westside IBOA 1232  arriving on the other side of Journal Square Station:

All white Bergen Avenue IBOA RTS 1244 arriving at Journal Square:

Union City

Academy RTS 1011 & NJ Transit NABI 5286 in Union City:

MCI 7156 with the Empire State Building in eyesight:

RTS 1130 on the expressway to New York City:

NABI 5303 on Route 86P leaving Union City:

I have a Canon SX10 camera. It shoots awesome video. As for late model RTSs, New Jersey was going to buy almost 1150 of them but the company building the model couldn't make a decent product so NJT went to NABI instead

NJTransit would've certainly bought a slew of buses from MTS, but that initial NJTorder was for 289 buses.

Nice pictures and videos!
I wish MTS would have made decent bus and then NJT could have ordered MTS RTS back in 2006 and then there wouldn't have order those ugly current  new NABI 416 Restyled bus. I hate NJT so much for this. the new NABI 416 order was a waste of money, they could have order the NFI D40LF or Van Hool or Designline EcoSaver IV instead of NABI 416, but at least the The 1988-1989 Flexible Metro B is retiring and there is mostly retire, and will be retired by end of the year, good riddance to them.

I don't like the restyled NABI buses either, but that alone can't make them a waste of money.  It's NABI's design now and not some sort of extra cost option.  Also, I think we all know that NJTransit still has no interest in low floor buses.

Wasn't it NJTs strict customization and such that pretty much put MTS in the dirt when they tried to pull that order back 3 years ago?

Could've been a factor (I don't konw).  My understanding is that MTS pretty much didn't have the necessary funds to build the buses.

You DO know that NJ Transit isn't interested in low floor buses, right? And how is the 416 a waste of money?

Man, anything that doesn't show up in NYC is a waste (according to him)!!! Now if only they just order some Nova LFS/A/X, then NJT would be da bomb son!!!!! (LMFAO as I write this out of sarcasm).

Novabusorionfan, while I do agree that NJT's 1988/89 Metros do need to be retired (they've done more than enough to deserve it), that does not mean you have to keep sales-pitching for Novabus and Orion. For Christ's sake, STFU about them already. It's annoying as hell! Yes, you have the right to voice your opinion, but that doesn't mean that every last single post you make in a thread has to include why a TA should've bought Nova LFS/A/X's or Orion VII NG's or DesignLine Ecosavers. Are you on their payroll?!? If yes, you better be collecting a check from them. If no, then STFU dude!!!

Also, NJT needs buses that can be used anywhere at anytime, and low-floor buses won't cut it in rural areas. So untill another high-floor bus manufacturer arises, rest asure that you'll see more 416's in NJT territory. And given that NABI was the only other high-floor bus manufacturer at the time NJT solicited bids for new buses, NO they WERE NOT a waste of money.

To everyone else, excuse me for ranting, but certain assholes people say certain [dumb] things that should've just been kept to themselves. And to aznboy, none of that was directed at you.
It is whatever.
