I make an annual pilgrimage to the Bowie MD Railroad Museum on the Sunday after Thanksgiving to see what equipment AMTRAK is using to carry the extra passengers.  Today in addition to the usual AMTRAK equipment I saw an 8-car emu set from NJT (with standees) and a MARC trainset.  The AMTRAK AEM7s that usually pull only 6 cars in high speed service were all pulling at least 8 cars today, in fact, the SILVER STAR was on-time and pulled by only one AEM7.
