In addition to the situation at Takoma, we also now have cracked rails at Medical Center and West Hyattsville for this afternoon: http://www.wmata.com/about_metro/news/PressReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=2634

Scrabbleship

Ironic thing was that trackwork is/was scheduled for the stretch between West Hyattsville and PG Plaza this weekend.

At the same time, road paving on Georgia in part of Columbia Heights causing more havoc on the 70s buses. I had a good 15 minute wait at Irving for a bus of any sort after an 2100 and a 5300 on the 70 passed by. The 79 I ended up getting, 5416, made good time and beat them both to Silver Spring.

As of 5 PM (if I'm doing my time change math right): West Hyattsville broken rail resolved.  Medical Center still being worked on.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a quieter day in WMATA land.
