I wonder if this news release from Metro (http://wmata.com/about_metro/news/PressReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=2457) is in any way related to West Ox opening...

Transport

With Fairfax Connector taking over the 12s and 20s routes to Centerville, Westfields, and Chantilly; what routes will WMATA run out of West Ox?

The 1s and 2s?  Some of the Springfield area routes (the 17s and 18s)?  I imagine a lot of deadheading from and to the garage.

It is my assumption that this will be a Mon - Fri only operation (as with the Connector).  Is that correct?

WEST OX will open march 27th they house a number of routes  7's,16's,17's,18', there will be posted on the website metroopensdoors and just keep checking on there for the opening of west ox operation.

ALL OF 2000's is supposed to go to west ox until further notice (4200-4219 )has been moved from the mother base 4000's will be moved to bladens, montgomery, landover until the new buses come in between may-june hopefully they were all supposed to be in by the start of the new route of S9 that will go in service march 29th. so stay tunned.

Cool! Landover is getting 4000's Flixibles. So after the BRT buses arrive every single Flxible is going to be retired? None are going to stick around a little longer?

As it stands now, yes.

If things go as we wish, the Metro B's (if any) would be retired.
It is whatever.
