I was taking some shots outside Union Station before I came home and spotted this bus coming around to the circle. I thought it was a Van Hool open top, but when it pulled up, it was a bus from a manufacturer I've never heard of. Does anybody know about this bus?

Yes, the bus in question is an AYATS BRAVO which is manufactured by a Spanish company called CARROCERIAS AYATS SA.  They use SCANIA chassis a lot and are quite popular in England.  Most of their coach products are enclosed double deckers.  It was probably imported from Europe for use here in the United States.

Its apparently a demo which is being tested by all the US City Sightseeing franchises.

It's funny how many double deckers DC is running around when a couple of years ago PRTC was thinking of test driving one of the Alexander Dennis buses around for commuter service and when I called DCDOT to see what kind of permission we needed they were like, "duhhhhhh, what?"  Morons.

That's because y'all don't contribute to the tax base!

That'd be wild to see an Enviro500 rolling into downtown DC full of commuters. GO exercised that option but are probably kicking themselves where they could have gotten Van Hool TD925 double deckers.

Why would they be kicking themselves?
