Orange line mix up at Rosslyn station.

I forgot that this had been reported on Fox 5 News on Wednesday. An Orange Line train had accidently headed south to Arlington National Cemetery station due to an electrical problem. This had caused massive delays and headaches for riders between Rosslyn and Ballston (and Pentagon). This is actually not the first time this had occurred. Just last week, another Orange line train made the same mistake at the same station tunnel no less (that time was human error). I believe WMATA need to seriously update the electronics on Metrorail before another accident occurs. Twice in less then 2 weeks is not a good sign.

I knew this sort of thing happens. Whenever I'm at one of those stations before the lines split up, I always wondered what if the train went the wrong way.

Well, apparently they head to the next station anyway, drop-off the passengers, then head back OOS.

The right thing to do would be to head back with the passengers and continue to Vienna, but knowing how Metro can be, they would probably make them wait at Arlington Cemetery for the next blue line.
