On Saturday, August 25, 2012 there will be a program in the auditorium featuring the PCC streetcar which is the modern type car which replaced many of the older cars in American cities beginning in 1936.

Here in Washington, DC the first cars of this type came in 1937 and this program marks the 75th anniversary of the first batch to arrive.  Jim Hogan, a trolley historian, is putting on the slide show which can be seen at 1:15  and  3:15 PM on Saturday.  A DC Transit PCC car will be operating on the museum's line and if you have not seen the new museum buildings and re routed line now is the time.  The National Capital Trolley Museum is located at  1313 Bonifant Road, Colesville, MD., 301-384-6088.   The PCC operating will be # 1101.  Enjoy!!
